50 Cent Net Worth 2015: Rapper's Connecticut Mansion Still Unsold? Find Out Why

Rapper 50 Cent has listed his Farmington, Connecticut mansion again on the market for $8.5 million. It was reported that the 21-bedroom, 25-bathroom mansion at 50 Poplar Hill Drive remained unsold.

The 51,657 square-foot Connecticut mansion was bought by "In Da Club" rapper from the former American boxer, Mike Tyson, for about $4.1 million. According to reports, the mansion was originally listed for $18 million in 2007, but the asking price had been reduced several times. The property reportedly deteriorated on the market despite its alluring amenities such as a gym, racquetball courts, disco room, indoor pool, mini casino and home theater.

Apparently, the 40-year old spent $67,000 a month for the house's maintenance. In fact, in his bankruptcy filing, it was outlined that the rapper owed money to various companies just to keep up his mansion. It was said that he owed an HVAC contractor for maintaining the property's lawn. He also owed a carpet cleaning firm and a hot tub company.

Local realtors reportedly think that the current asking price for the property is too high. The president of Prudential Premier Homes in Farmington, Rob Guiffria, told the Courant that 50 Cent would be lucky if he gets $5 million for his Connecticut mansion.

"$8.5 million? Not a chance," Guiffria said. "50 Cent would have a better chance being a country music singer," he added.

50 Cent filed bankruptcy last month after he was ordered to pay $7 million for the scandal he posted online. It was reported that his fans were eager to know why he filed for bankruptcy a month later after he flaunted his 17-acres Connecticut mansion on Oprah Winfrey's show.

According to Forbes, it was not 50 Cent's music career that gave him a fortune but his outside business ventures. Curtis previously ranked number 4 among the wealthiest hip-hop artists and had a net worth of $155 million.
