Celebrity Real Estate: A Case Study Home is included in Sam Simon's $18M Pacific Palisades Estate

The Pacific Palisades Estate of Sam Simon includes a main home built in 2010, or Case Study House #20, as well as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument built in 1948. This estate sits on 1.3 acres of land and is listed on the market for $18 million. The property itself will benefit the lucky buyer who appreciates the aesthetics of the estate.

According to listing agent Stephen Sigoloff, the sale of the property of the late Simon (who passed away this year at the age of 59) will benefit multiple charities.

Based on the report of Realtor, the Case Study House program challenged architects to create low-cost prototype housing using modern materials. There were thirty six model homes designed by famous architects, but only 24 were actually built.

"It's very rare" to find desirable designs on the market, listing agent Sigoloff says. "It would be nice to get a good custodian for that house."

As the price tag suggests, the custodian must have a great deal of money.

Located just off the Pacific Coast Highway and a short distance from the beach and Palisades Park, the estate of the late Sam Simon sits on a 58,742-foot lot. The property boasts a 7,124-square-foot main house constructed in 2010, which features four bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The front home is beautifully designed with a floating staircase, high ceilings, and roof terraces, as well as a variety of high-energy saving features and sustainable materials which were commissioned by Simon.

Hollywood Reporter said the front home of the estate features a theater, bar, and game room that is connected to a stone deck with a cascading pool, an extensive green garden, and an overlooking view of the Bailey House.

Richard Neutra's Bailey Case Study House #20 is located behind the backyard pool on an expansive lawn. Built in 1948, the Bailey House is one of only 34 homes designed as part of the Case Study House program, and one of only 24 that were constructed.

The property's large green lawn allows guests to maximize the estate's private outdoors.
