Asus GX700 Specs Update: Cooling Attachment Brings 43 Percent Faster Graphics Chip, 48 Percent Faster CPU, 31 Percent Faster Memory; Skylake i7-6820HK Processor Boosts Up to 3.6 GHz

Asus Republic of Gamers GX 700 will show that not all thin-bodied devices are lightweight.

Under normal conditions, a laptop with a thin body means it is going to be light in terms of weight. That is not the case with the first ever water-cooled laptop, the Asus ROG GX700.

Asus GX700 comes in at a hefty 8 pounds or 3.6kg. That is quite a weight of a laptop. Surprisingly, the casing for its body is thinner than the ordinary laptop, PC Gamer reported.

Asus GX700 may have a pair of traditional blower fans to help it exhaust hot air and should be able to use those components without the dock attached, Asus claims it will let the GX700 run cooler, quieter, and overclock much better. Asus engineers have allegedly seen the GX700's graphics chip run up to 43 percent faster, the CPU up to 48 percent faster, and the memory up to 31 percent faster with the liquid cooling unit attached.

Asus GX700 contains a standard heat pipe and water-cooling pipes that can consume a hefty space to reduce heat drastically. These are essential when one needs to overclock the machine. According to Asus engineers, the graphic chips on the machine can go up as high as 43 percent faster, the CPU at 48 percent faster, and the memory, up to 31 percent faster, when the liquid cooling attachment is plugged in.  

Asus GX700 contains a NVIDIA GTX 980 GPU desktop version and not the laptop version. It also contains the latest Intel Skylake i7-6820HK processor that clocks in at 2.7GHz but can go up as high as 3.6GHz when boosted, VR World reported.

Asus GX700 can accommodate up to 64GB DDR4 RAM. A 1080p 4K 17.3-inch IPS display screen can perfectly display all that a user wants on this monster machine.

Asus GX700 does not have the final design yet. The GX700 is still being fine-tuned and will only be available at a later date.
