Game developer Ubisoft has finally released complete details of its new video game, the "Far Cry Primal." The company claims that the new video game will take the players in a new and different setting, which is the Stone Age, a report from Design & Trend said on Tuesday.
"In 'Far Cry Primal,' players will get to explore the Stone Age in all of its vast and perilous glory. Stepping into the primitive boots of an established hunter named Takkar, players will be able to hunt great beasts like woolly mammoths and sabretooth tigers, using the bones and skins he garners from his hunts to forge new weapons and equipment," the report said.
In the same report, Jean-Christophe Guyot, Ubisoft's creative director, explained that the decision of the company to switch from the usual modern setting to a Stone Age seemed to be awkward at first. He, however, stressed that the world settings and locales that can be found in the "Far Cry" games have produced a good recipe for the game's "perfect setting."
"The Stone Age is the perfect setting for a Far Cry game. Far Cry usually puts you at the edge of the known world, in a beautiful, lawless and savage frontier. The Stone Age is, in a way, the very first frontier for humankind; it's the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain. That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself," Guyot.
Gamespot reports that the game is being developed by Ubisoft Montréal. It was said that the company will release a "developer diary" in which players can see the behind-the-scenes photos of the game.
"Far Cry Primal" is slated to be released on February 23, 2016 for Xbox One and PS4. The company said that a PC version of the game is slated to be revealed in March 2016.
