Game developer EA announced this week the company's plans regarding the "Star Wars: Battlefront" season pass. The company said that the game will eventually provide players with four expansion packs which will be released at a later date, a report from Gamespot said on Tuesday.
"We're also excited to announce the Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass, which extends the game with four expansion packs coming at a later date, filled with new content that will take you to new locations across a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass owners will also secure two-week early access to each expansion pack and an exclusive "Shoot First" emote," EA said via the game's official website.
EA has also said that "Star Wars: Battlefront" Ultimate Edition will be receiving new contents that are available in the game's Deluxe Edition and Season Pass.
According to Gamespot, the game's season pass will be sold for only $50, as listed in Xbox Store, PlayStation Store and Origin. It was said that both EA and DICE will likely price each DLC pack for only $15, in case they implement the same pricing scheme similar to the "Battlefield" games.
"Battlefront is expected to ship on November 17 with 12 multiplayer maps. Given the evident similarities in DLC strategy shared by it and Battlefield, this means the number of maps available could more than double by the time this all plays out. It also means DICE could develop more than four packs," Forbes said.
"Star Wars Battlefront is breathtaking and very much looks and feels like a Star Wars game rather than a re-skin of Battlefield. Although colleagues like Erik Kain have choice words about the game's lack of campaign, Paul Tassi believes the beta's perceived lack of balance is actually a strength to be capitalized on," the report added, describing the game.
"Star Wars: Battlefront" is slated to be launched on Nov. 17. The game will be available for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The game's beta will reportedly end today, Oct. 13.
