‘Half-Life 3’ 2015 News: ‘Dota 2’ Patch Doc Leaks The Game’s PC Launch By Accident, Sparks New Rumors

A new rumor has surfaced on Tuesday saying that "Half Life 3" is still in development despite the absence of official details from game developer Valve.Rumors and speculations about the game continue to surface as fans and die-hard players are eager to hear new details from the company.

Valve has maintained that "Half-Life 3" is far from being developed. However, a recent rumor has pointed out that the game is in development after details of the game was apparently leaked by mistake, iDigital Times said on Tuesday.

According to the report, details of "Half Life 3" was discovered after the patch contents intended for "Dota 2 Reborn" containing a text document confirmed that the most anticipated game is in "active development" at Valve. "Dota 2 Reborn" is another competitive game which was recently launched using Valve's Source 2 engine.

"Given the name of the file in question, hl3.txt, it seems likely that whoever included the document in the recent Dota 2 update wanted the file found. But that still doesn't tell us whether someone(s)inside the company included the files as a joke or as the latest confirmation the Half Life series will be a full trilogy at some point in the (hopefully not too distant) future," the report said.

Another rumor says that "Half-Life 3" will be released as another open world roleplaying game. A Reddit page has also speculated that the game will be released using Valve's new engine platform, the Source 2.

"Open world would be a good way to show off Source 2 for sure, considering Source 1 had to have constant loading screens even in relatively small areas like Portal 2," said a Reddit user named datlinus on the aforementioned website.

"So I guess it'd make sense. And yeah I trust Valve. If they actually release the damn thing it signals that they are confident enough in their product, which considering the amount of canceled projects they had over the years, is hard to achieve," he said.
