‘Summer Camp’ to be Reborn as ‘Friday the 13th Game’, Jason Voorhees Returns to Hunt Players

The survival horror game 'Slasher Vol.1: Summer Camp' by Guns Media is going to be reborn as a 'Friday the 13th Game' after acquiring the license to be a Friday the 13th Product.

According to a report by Games Radar, 'Summer Camp' is Friday the 13th in everything but the name. The survival horror game is set in a teen counseling summer camp called Camp Forrest Green, which is stalked by a psychotic killer.

Ronnie Hobbs, co-founder and producer of Guns Media, admitted to Games Radar that Friday the 13th served as their inspiration and driving force in developing the game.

"We grew up worshipping Friday the 13th," said Hobbs. "You can only wait so long for the video game industry to create something you've always wanted to play... so that was definitely an internal driving force."

'Summer Camp' became a new licensed product of Friday the 13th after Sean Cunningham, creator of Friday the 13th, approached the group of Guns Media to have a conversation built on mutual admiration and respect for what each had created.

"We never dreamed the F13 team would catch wind of the project and reach out to us," Hobbs shared. "Cunningham loved what we were doing, and after dozens of phone calls over the course of two months, he surprisingly offered us the F13 video game license."

The team from Guns Media accepted the offer and have set-up a Kickstarter Campaign to acquire the necessary funds to deliver the best Friday the 13th Game.

Guns Media also teased fans that they could play as Jason, the brutal killing maniac in the Friday the 13th franchise.

All information regarding the game is posted on the Kickstarter Campaign page. Developers are also seeking the help of their fellow Friday the 13th fans to donate or pledge, in order to follow through with the release of the game in Fall of 2016.
