Late Iranian fashion designer Bijan Pakzad's plush estate in Beverly Hills, California, has reportedly sold for $9.8 million. The exclusive property was initially offered for $12 million and was allowed to be viewed by appointment only.
According to the Zillow Blog, Pakzad purchased the home from Mexican pop singer, Luis Miguel, for around $7 million back in 2002. He renovated the place according to his taste.
The home was put on the listing market in June 2012 and was showed to 140 customers before it finally managed to sell, reports TMZ.
According to a feature on The Wall Street Journal:
"Located in Beverly Hills, the 12,000-square-foot Italianate villa has six bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, polished stone columns, a wood-paneled office and elevator. It includes a family room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a marble-countertop bar, maid's quarters with a separate entrance and a master suite with a sitting room, fireplace and marble bathroom.
The property includes a garden, a pool, outdoor dining patios and a one-bedroom guesthouse with an attached cabana that has a gas grill and fireplace. There's also a 5,000-square-foot underground parking structure that can fit more than 20 cars."
Pakzad passed away in April 2011 in Los Angeles.
Not only was his home an "appointment-only" listing, but his Rodeo Drive boutique was exclusive and customers and guests needed prior appointment to visit the store. The boutique is reportedly billed as the most expensive in the world, reports the New York Times.
