'New iMac' Specs, News: 21.5 Inch iMac Comes With 4K Display And Improved Processors

Last weeks rumors finally came to life. Apple has just updated its iMac family by introducing a new member, a 21.5 inch iMac with 4K display. The retina display of 3840 x 2160 is a big improvement from the 1080p that the previous models had. Apple also claims that the new iMac has improved a lot and it now shows 25% more colors than the older versions, increasing the display's vibrance and accuracy.

Aside from the display bump, the company also improved what's inside the 21.5 inch iMac. The new iMac is powered by Intel Broadwell processors with 3.1 GHz quad core i5 chip. It's not exactly a top-of-the-line upgrade, as the industry has already been introduced to the Skylake processors, but what the new iMac has is still relatively new and not bad at all.

For the price, the 21.5 inch iMac with 4K display can be bought for $1500. But if you are fine with a non Ultra HD version, you can get it for $1100.

More Upgrades From iMacs

Apple's 27 inch iMacs line was also refreshed and every model now comes with 5K display. Before, only the higher end iMacs get the Ultra HD screen option, and this means you have to spend $2000 to get such feature. But now, you can already get the Ultra HD screen option even on the lowest end model which is a few hundred bucks lower. This is pretty much a good surprise, considering how Apple usually controls quality by making premium features available only in the more expensive models.

Apart from the new iMac models, Apple also released 3 new luxury accessories for its users, the Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad 2, and the Magic Mouse 2. All of which are upgrades from their previous models. These accessories are all rechargeable and come with some performance upgrades.
