The most recent episode of "The Big Bang Theory," Season 9, titled "The 2003 Approximation," featured Sheldon (Jim Parsons) searching for his new roommate.
Since Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) have mutually decided to live together, Sheldon is left with no other choice but to be by himself. Sheldon obviously doesn't like the setup, but there's nothing much he could do because Penny and Leonard are now married.
In order to adapt with the sudden changes in his living setup, Sheldon posted an ad that announced his desire to find the most ideal roommate for him. Unfortunately, throughout the entire episode, and after screening at least five people, Sheldon couldn't find a new roommate because he was too picky.
With this, fans are wondering how long Sheldon will live on his own before he finally finds the perfect replacement for Leonard. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Steve Molaro revealed that the changes in Sheldon's living arrangements will be tackled in multiple episodes. This means that Sheldon will most likely screen other possible roommates throughout Season 9.
"Living arrangements are definitely going to be confronted in the first four episodes. It's tricky, sure - Leonard and Penny need to move forward, but at the same time we have a broken-hearted Sheldon, who is sort of their little brother and child and it's tough to ignore that for them," he said.
Meanwhile, the upcoming episode of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9, titled "The Perspiration Implementation," will introduce a new man in Amy's life.
After ending her relationship with Sheldon, it seems that Amy is determined to entertain other guys. Obviously, Sheldon wouldn't like the idea because he still wants to win back his ex-girlfriend, according to Design & Trend.
"The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 airs Monday nights on CBS.
