The four-bedroom home of New Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto, located in Newport Beach, CA, is still listed on the market.
Jerry Dipoto resigned as general manager of Los Angeles Angels after a series of disputes with Angels' manager Mike Scioscia. After Dipoto stepped down from the Angels, the Seattle Mariners hired him in September as their new GM, with hopes he can end the team's drought in 14 seasons - the longest in MLB.
According to Realtor, it's hard to imagine why his home hasn't been sold since it was listed for $3 million since May. The 4,300-square-foot modernist home of Dipoto is filled with gorgeous architectural details that include the white box ceilings in the open-concept dining and living rooms.
The property features a media room with dark padded walls and wood moldings to enhance the viewing experience. The house also has a great feature of three wine refrigerators.
The stone patio outside comes with a barbecue. The home is just a few steps away from the Balboa Bay Club.
The Seattle Mariners announced last week of September that Jerry Dipoto would be their new general manager. He is filling the spot vacated by Jack Zduriencik who was fired on August 28 in the midst of the team's disappointing season.
Yahoo Sports said Dipoto might have the same story too as he himself was ousted as general manager of the Los Angeles Angels in a power struggle with longtime manager Mike Scioscia in July. The Angels didn't of course do what the Mariners did this season to the predecessor of Dipoto, but at least Dipoto felt the pressure of World Series expectations that were never met.
The Mariners get Jerry Dipoto who is still relatively young at 47 and has a mind for new-age analytics and also played big-league ball and has worked in four MLB front offices. As the Mariners new GM, Dipoto has plenty of work to do with the club.
