'Reign' Season 3 Episode 2 Preview & Spoilers: Catherine Goes To Prison; Elizabeth's Plans Backfires At Her

Catherine de Medici's (Megan Follows) plan of bringing down Mary (Adelaide Kane) failed, and now that she is in jail, what will happen to her? In the new episode of "Reign" Season 3, Catherine's life won't be easier now that she is behind bars.

According to Ecumenical News, Catherine was brought back to France and was immediately brought behind bars as she set foot on her son's land. The site reports that there are screenshots for the next episodes which show Catherine in tattered clothes and begging her son to reconsider her punishment.

It seems like her alliance with the Queen of England, Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) did not go well, and Elizabeth gets the blunt end of a political counterattack.

Meanwhile, Mary will be forced to make difficult decisions about Scotland's future. Despite the dispute with Catherine, Mary and Francis (Toby Regbo) seem to be doing well and in love with each other again. It was reported that the two will join forces in working on Francis' legacy while he grows weaker every day.

Executive producer Laurie McCarthy previously revealed that Francis will die in Season 3. Fashion & Style reports that McCarthy revealed that the death of Francis earlier so that fans would have time to adjust to the idea that he will be gone soon. The viewers will also see how the love between Mary and Francis grow as they wait for his impending death.

McCarthy revealed that she wants Francis and Mary's love story to be an emotional journey. She promised fans that they will be giving Francis the proper send-off that will not shock viewers.

"Reign" Season 3 episode 2 is titled "Betrothed" and will air this week on The CW.
