Hayden Panettiere Post-Partum Depression: 'Nashville' Star Seeks Medical Help To Cure Her Condition, Takes Leave From ABC Series

Hayden Panettiere's post-partum depression condition is heavily affecting the actress. The 26-year-old actress has decided to seek medical help, prompting her to take a break from her ABC TV series, "Nashville."

What surprised fans was the fact and coincidence that Hayden's role as Juliette Barnes on the show is also suffering from Postpartum Depression. The storyline follows the troubled Juliette after giving birth to baby Cadence. On Seasons 3 and 4, the character was seen having emotional outbursts that seem to affect her husband Avery Barkley (Jonathan Jackson), People reports.

Amidst Hayden's postpartum depression consultation, it was revealed that the storyline of the show was planned even before she announced that she's seeking medical help for the condition.

"Hayden Panettiere is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression," Hayden's rep told US Weekly. "She asks that the media respect her privacy during this time."

The "I Love You Beth Cooper" star broke her silence on her postpartum depression condition during her appearance at "Live! with Kelly and Michael" in September.

"It's something a lot of women experience. When [you're told] about postpartum depression you think it's 'I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child.' I've never, ever had those feelings," Hayden said. "Women need to know that they're not alone, and that it does heal."

Hayden and her fiancée, professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko, had their first daughter in December 2014. They named her Kaya Evodokia and she's now 10 months old.

Hayden's postpartum depression was also discussed during her interview with Auralia's "TV Week" recently. She admitted that she's suffering from the condition, which makes her feel scared and lonely. She confessed that she's moody, sad and depressed. The mother of one also claimed that she gets support from the father of her baby, Wladimir.
