New details for the upcoming fifth season of "New Girl" have just been released.
According to Spoilers Guide, the hit FOX comedy series will introduce a slew of guest stars throughout the entire season. Other than Megan Fox's Reagan character, "New Girl" Season 5 will also feature actor Taran Killam.
In an interview with the publication, executive producer Liz Meriweather said that Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece's (Hanna Simone's) engagement will have an impact on Jess (Zooey Deschanel). With this, the EP hinted that Jess could be attracted to Killam's character. However, whether or not he will also be attracted to her is what fans need to watch out for in the upcoming installment.
"When your best friend is going to get married to another one of your best friends, it makes you question your own relationship choices. It's a wakeup call a little bit of Jess wanting to be in a relationship and meet somebody that she is going to possibly could get married to," she said.
Meanwhile, Jess isn't the only character who will be dealing with relationship woes. Even though Schmidt and Cece are bound to get married, the wedding preparations wouldn't be easy for them.
To make matters worse, Cece's mom will visit her ahead of the wedding. This is the first time that she will be meeting Schmidt.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Greenfield said that Schmidt will turn into a "groom-zilla," and he will be the one who will be most stressed about throwing the best wedding.
"I think we'll see some groom-zilla," he said. Talking about guest star Anna George, who will play the role of Cece's mom, "She comes in on the fly and wants to meet this guy. She isn't thrilled with Schmidt. Schmidt is stressed out. He wants to make this thing work."
"New Girl" Season 5 will premiere on FOX in January 2016.
