New Series Alert: Fox and Marvel are Teaming Up to Produce 'Hellfire' and 'Legion'-- TV's Newest Shows

Fox and Marvel will be teaming up to bring fans two TV series, "Hellfire" and "Legion" based on all-time favorite X-men characters.

First, 20th Century Fox TV and Marvel Television will bring "Hellfire" to the small screen via Fox Network. According to Deadline, Hellfire's story will be set in the 1960s and will revolve around a young Special Agent who will track down a power-hungry woman with special abilities who is working with an underground society of millionaires. This underground society is known as "The Hellfire Club" and it want to rule the world. It can be recalled that a different version of "The Hellfire Club" led by Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon) was introduced as the main antagonists in Marvel's X-Men: First Class.

"Hellfire" will be created by Evan Katz (24: Live another Day), Manny Coto (24), Patrick McKay (Star Trek 3) and JD Payne (Star Trek 3) under 20th Century Fox. "Hellfire" is currently on its development stage

As written in the Marvel website, Fox Entertainment president David Madden said, "We are thrilled to partner with Marvel to bring this world to television and build upon the vibrant mythology that has captivated fans for years. These powerful and dynamic characters are complicated and larger-than-life, the pace and visual imagination are unrelenting, and the story takes place during one of the most explosive eras in recent history."

The second TV series, "Legion", will be for FX network. Die hard X-men fans will recognize "Legion" as the alter ego of David Haller, the son of Charles Xavier. FX will be airing a pilot episode that will be produced by FX Productions and Marvel Television, according to IGN. The pilot episode will introduce David Haller. David Haller has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and has been in and out of a psychiatric hospital for years. He has struggled with the mental illness since he was a teenager. A strange encounter with a fellow patient will help him realize that the voices and the visions in his head might be real.

The executive producer for Legion will be Noah Hawley who is also known as the EP and showrunner for Fargo. He will be working with Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, Jim Chory and John Cameron.

"Legion is just the sort of ambitious story that Noah excels at," FX's Nick Grad said. "His adaption of Fargo for television was one of the most acclaimed television events in recent memory. It's also an honor to partner with Marvel on Legion and to enlist such an accomplished team of Executive Producers to create this pilot."

There are no details on the release dates for the two shows yet.
