Most Expensive Home in US Hits Listing Market With $190 Million Price Tag

Just around a month ago the most expensive home in the U.S., the Penthouse atop the Pierre Hotel in New York, came into the market with a $125 million price tag. However, a fresh listing has snatched the title from the former 'Martin Zweig' penthouse. A water-front mansion in Greenwich, Connecticut, has forayed into the market with an asking price of $190 million.

According to the listing records, the residence is set in a 50 acre beach-front lot. Built in 1898, the home is a 13,519 square feet single-family residence, comprising of 12 bedrooms, seven full and two half bathrooms.

Living spaces include a formal living room, a solarium, a library, a family room and a sleeping porch. A modern kitchen, a lower-level wine cellar, a dressing room, a sitting room and more than two laundry rooms are some of its other features.

Outside, the residence has vast stretches of landscaped green gardens stocked with flowering trees and shrubs. Open patios, porches and a viewing pergola also exists on the property. A clock tower completes the stone carriage house, which has ample space for parking numerous cars. The property also has greenhouses. A three-bedroom cottage sits near the entrance of the property, which can be used as staff quarters or a guest house.

Other amenities include a 75 foot heated pool, a tennis court and a large spa as well.

The listing of the home lies with David Ogilvy and Associates Realtors. The property has been listed for the first time since 1904. The listing describes the home as:
