Julien Studley, well- known real estate broker and advisor, passed away in his home last October 13, 2015, leaving his wife for 28 years, Jane Studley.
In a report by rew-online.com, Julien established his real estate brokerage firm, Julien J. Studley, in New York in 1954 after he came back from his service in Korean War as a soldier in US Army from 1950- 1953.
Studley's firm became well- known as a tenant- oriented commercial reals estate company in New York and later on, in other cities and parts of United States.
His philanthropic nature was not only limited in the real estate industry as he became "Chairman of the New School for Social Research, from which he received the Distinguished Service Award in 1997."
The report also said that Studley became the "Chairman of the Film Society of Lincoln Center, and served as a significant member of the Boards of Lincoln Center and The Graduate School of CUNY."
Julien was also being remembered by his colleagues, family, friends and clients as one of the best advisor in their field.
According to reuters.com, Studley's company represented companies who are looking for clients who wanted to lease office spaces. This practice is uncommon among the methods real estate brokers are using and applying. With Studley's principles, the real estate broker will serve as the agent both for the buyer and seller.
Julien, with the help of his partner, had released monthly list of available office spaces in 1993. His reports became popular as it contained real information and not anecdotes about the real estate in Manhattan.
Studley was also known for helping local schools and institutions in New York. After giving a substantial donation to the New School, Julien was awarded with the Studley Graduate Program in International Affairs at the university being named after him to honor his contribution for the school.
In 2002, Julien sold his company to his partner. It was later then merges with Savills Plc last year which created the largest global real estate firm by gaining a large U.S presence while Studley will handle all international affairs.
