Former "Playboy" Playmates Karissa and Kristina Shannon were involved in a horrific vehicular accident earlier this week. PEOPLE reported that the Beverly Hills Police Department said that the reality television stars were involved in a vehicular accident Monday, Oct. 12, 9 p.m., at the corner of Whittier and Trenton drives.
A source that happened to be close to the twins revealed to TMZ that at the time the accident took place, they were on their way to get their nipples pierced. Unfortunately, Kristina lost control of their G-Wagon along Beverly Hills, which resulted in the accident. Reportedly, rescuers were able to pull Karissa out of the vehicle through the windshield, while the firefighters needed to cut open the roof in order to get Kristina out.
According to Hollywood Life, the 26-year-old twins were then rushed to a local hospital. The girls were lucky enough that they only got scratches and bruises from the accident. It was also reported by TMZ that while Kristina was still in her hospital gown, she was called in for "misdemeanour DUI" or driving under the influence.
Beverly Hills police Sgt. Max Subin stated that, "We cited her and released her to the care of the hospital." He then added, "We will be submitting our case to the district attorney for possible criminal charges of driving under the influence of drugs or liquor," as reported by PEOPLE.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that the twins got in trouble with the law. Way back in 2007, Karissa was arrested for misdemeanour battery. And in Jan. 2008, they were both charged with aggravated battery after they got involved in a catfight with two other ladies while attending a house party.
The Shannon Twins appeared on the E! reality series, "Girls Next Door" as Hugh Hefner's girlfriends in 2008. That was the time that the twins gained their popularity. When Karissa and Kristina moved out in 2010, they were still able to continue their TV careers as they joined the Celebrity Big Brother in 2012.
