Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has finally been confirmed for launching this Oct. 26, but Surface Pro fans are already dying to know if the latest tablet is really better than its predecessor.
In terms of design, the Surface Pro 4 is slimmed down to a 12.3-inch display bezel from a bigger screen, while keeping the same physical impression as the Surface Pro 3. According to Tech Radar, the Surface Pro's resolution of 2,736 x 1,824 pixel-resolution 267 PPI display is just a bit bigger compared to Surface Pro 3's 2,160 x 1,440 pixel-resolution display. Other than that and the slight difference in the weight, the design of both Surface Pro versions are the same.
In terms of specs, the Surface Pro 4 will come in either Core i7 and Core i5, which is a pretty big bump from Surface Pro's Core i3. Moreover, the newer model comes with Intel HD 515, while the predecessor has 4200, according to Design and Trend. For storage space, all versions of the Surface Pro 4 offer twice the storage space offered by the predecessor, with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and even 1TB of space. Last year, the Surface Pro 3 was only upto 512GB.
As marketed, the Surface Pro 4 is said to be thinner, lighter and more powerful than the Surface Pro 3. With nearly no change in its looks and a significant boost in its internal specs, is the Surface Pro 4 worth the price? Surface Pro 4 starts at $899 for the version with the most basic specs, and goes all up to $2,699 for the 1TB model. A 128GB 6th Generation Intel® CoreTM i5 with 4GB of RAM combination would be around $999, and if not for the slimmer bezel and improved processor, it is just like the Surface Pro 3 with 128GB Intel Core i5.
