'Days of Our Lives' Spoilers, Casts: Marie Wilson Returns with New Role

“Days of Our Lives” will welcome a new character with a familiar face as Marie Wilson returns to the show as Summer.

Wilson once played the role of Bree Tjaden, whose character wasn't big enough, as she tried to convince Hope (Kristian Alfonso) that she should be wary of Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove). Hope was in a confused state believing the accusations, but at the bottom line, viewers already knew that Bree wasn’t so crazy, Celeb Dirty Laundry reported.

In Wilson's return to the show, she will be playing the character of "Summer" who is called “a passionate loner who’s been in and out of institutions,” Serial Scoop reported. Summer is also known as a thief, which we will see at some point during her stint.

The character was listed as a short-term contract role only and won't be a major player on the show, but she will merely add some more twist to the story. It is speculated that Marlena (Deidre Hall) will become the therapist of Summer, who doesn't have a very nice character. But Summer's entry to "Days of Our Lives" will surely be something that viewers will look forward to because of her intriguing character and the return of the actress.

Wilson is known for her roles as Karen Wexler on “Port Charles” as well as Meg Synder on “As the World Turns.” But aside from soap operas, Wilson was also featured in “Criminal Minds” and “The Bay," as well as was even nominated for the Indie Series Award nomination in 2012 for the film “Workshop.”

“Days of Our Lives” recognizes the acting talent of Wilson and wants to see more of what she can do. Aside from Wilson, Paul Telfer was also returned to the show just recently as Xander Cook (aka Alexandros Kiriakis) instead of his previous role as Damon, Victor’s (played by John Aniston) henchman.
