'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' DLC Save Bug Still Persists on PS4 Even After Latest Update

PS4 players of "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" reportedly have complained about save data bugs that still persist even after the recent software update

"Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" is an open world action game developed by Kojima Productions for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. It was released last Sept. 1 and since then it has received good reviews from users of all platforms except for PS4. PS4 players are still experiencing save data bugs even after the latest update. According to GameSpot, this happens to Phantom Pain on PlayStation 4 with multiple accounts on one console.

The player receives an error that says, "This save data cannot be used as the relevant downloadable content was not found." Thus, the save file fails to load. According to Design and Trend, the data is not corrupted as it appears to be, but it can't be retrieved because the game searches for day-one DLC apparently is not present on the current account. And despite several patches, this one seems to be continuously overlooked by the game developers at Konami.

One user has tried to seek help via Reddit from the community of Metal Gear Solid players hoping to get a fix and from the way he has described his situation he seemed to have tried all possible work around including, backing up, deleting, restoring and relaunching the data but it was of no use. Those participating in the forum share the same problem and they all seem to agree that Konami has yet to fix this.

This problem should have been fixed in the most recent update released by Konami, announced last week, to prepare PS4 for "Metal Gear Online" mode. Apparently the issue is not fixed.

This is frustrating for the players. And for a game aiming to be recognized as the best game of the year, Konami needs to fix this fast before the players start shifting their attention to the upcoming games.
