Blizzard's 'Overwatch' Closed Beta To begin Oct. 27

"Overwatch" is an upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter in development by Blizzard Entertainment for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS. The curious fans will be able to test gameplay of this new action franchise because "Overwatch" beta officially begins Oct. 27, according to Battle Net.

This online competitive shooter was unveiled during last year's BlizzCon convention with few details. The fans have been kept in the shadow for a while and finally here comes the closed beta version.

However, it won't be open to everybody. As stated in Battle Net, the Closed Beta will be dedicated to a small number of testers who will have regular access. The company's goal is to achieve 100 percent gameplay feedback during the test period. The participants will be encouraged to discuss and dissect every hero, map, ability, as well as other aspect of the game in the forums that will be conducted.

According to Design and Trend, there is another option for those who want to try the game in full action. The company will also host a weekend beta test which will be sporadic and accessible for a limited-time to all interested players but the number of different available maps and heroes will be restricted. The purpose for this is to stress test game's servers and hardware that is why Blizzard is encouraging as many "Overwatch" players as it can during the beta weekend fun to be hosted in different parts of the world.

The first phase of the Closed Beta will begin on Oct. 27 in the Americas and the participants will be added in batches. Blizzard goal is to make Europe online next and then Asia will follow.

Unfortunately for Mac users, it was noted that "Overwatch" beta will be Windows-only and Battle.net desktop app must be installed in order to play.
