“Supernatural” Season 11 Season 8 will introduce a new guest star with Dylan Kingwell's entry as young Sam Winchester for the “Just My Imagination” episode, SpoilerTV reported.
Said news was also shared by Kingwell on his Twitter account saying, “So excited that I have booked a Guest Star role on #SupernaturalSeason11 can't wait to meet everyone!!!”
The Winchester brothers will work with different cases which would involve Sam's imaginary childhood friend named Sully. Apart from that, he will be dealing with a major threat of the Darkness.
Sully will be played by "Hello Ladies" actor Nate Torrence, as he asks help from Sam and Dean (Jensen Ackles) in the episode directed by alum Richard Speight Jr. To recall, Speight played the role of angel Gabriel (and moonlighted as The Trickster) in different episodes between seasons two and nine of "Supernatural," Variety reported.
Meanwhile, grownup Sam, together with his brother Dean, will deal with a pre-biblical threat that was seen on the Season 10 finale. Jared Padalecki who plays grownup Sam said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR) that "he is excited to see the Winchester brothers back on the same page when it comes to dealing with the show’s new big bad villain."
Jensen Ackles agrees with Padalecki's statement that its better that the brothers work together in achieving their goal, saying, “Teaming up to figure out what The Darkness is, what it wants, and how to defeat it is the boys' best chance of survival. We're taking the show back to its roots, and it feels good.”
On the new season, executive producer Jeremy Carver teased that it will slowly give light on what the Darkness is and what it intends to do. But it will be challenging for the Winchesters to battle with the unleashed evil due to limited information about the Darkness, International Business Times reported.
Co-executive producer Andrew Dabb added that the Darkness is a very scary and intimidating villain because no one can foresee what she wants.
“Supernatural” Season 11 airs every Wednesday night at 9/8c on the CW Network.
