"Star Trek Beyond" Update: 'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation' Simon Pegg Posts Post-Prod Photo; Storyline to Fall Along Original Show Flow, USS Enterprise to Enter Final Frontier

"Star Trek Beyond" has wrapped up, "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" actor Simon Pegg has finally confirmed. The movie director has also revealed that the film will now go on to the post-production process in the next eight months, just in time for its scheduled release in 2016.

"Star Trek" alumna Simon Pegg posted a tweet on his account showing a photo of himself together with co-writer Jung with the caption "That's a wrap on Star Trek Beyond! Writers, Doug Jung and Simon Pegg consider life after Trek." The Principal photography began in Canada and moved to locations in South Korea and Dubai. Photos of the cast and crew has also been featured while on set in Dubai with the new alien species, Screen Rant reported.

"Star Trek Beyond" photos of the cast and crew has also surfaced confirming of the upcoming film. In a report by MovieWeb, the most anticipated sequel to Justin Lin's 2013 "Star Trek Into Darkness" has recently just wrapped up filming and now proceeding to its eight months of post - production. Lin took J.J. Abram's place as he exited the franchise after "Star Trek" back in 2009, who chose to work on the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" instead.

"Star Trek Beyond" director Lin has been known for his work on the "Fast and Furious" franchise, as well as, television series such as "Community," "Scorpion," and "True Detective."

"Star Trek," the upcoming film, will be focusing on the crew of the USS Enterprise going through their five-year mission, following Capt. Kirk, Spock and the rest of the team as they go into their journey to the final frontier which falls along with the story of original show.

"Star Trek Beyond," the anticipated science-fiction adventure, is set to be released on July 22, 2016. The third installment is said to reboot the cinematic series and the 13th in overall franchise. The series is based on the original creation of Gene Roddenberry which has grown a massive fanbase ever since.
