The Force has indeed awakened as posters and full trailer details are finally announced for the next installment of the highly-anticipated film, 'Star Wars: The Force Awaken.'
Lucasfilm announced that the full trailer will be aired on the halftime during the game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia, which starts at 8:15 p.m. ET/5:15 p.m. PT., Monday on ESPN. Alongside the announcement, Lucasfilm released the official poster for the movie that will be shown on 18th December.
The poster has been giving hints about the movie. According to Entertainment Weekly, the background that looks like a moon apparently isn't a moon with the weapon coming out of it. Also, a newcomer is seen on the poster, the tiny, alien creature in goggles between BB-8 and R2-D2. Lucasfilm did not comment on it, but there is a speculation that it is Lupita Nyong'o's space pirate Maz Kanata.
Carrie Fisher garners the largest spot as Princess Leia. It is somehow a puzzle to Star Wars fans why Mark Hamill or Luke Skywalker is missing in the poster. Or is he?
In April, the studio released the teaser trailer for the "Force Awakens" installment, which unveiled some fresh faces such as Finn (John Boyega), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and Rey (Daisy Ridley). The video garnered more than 64 million views on Youtube. Come August, a poster by Drew Struzan, famous Star Wars artist, was issued at Disney's D23 expo.
In both posters issued, there is no trace of Luke Skywalker which leaves everyone speculating.
The 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' the seventh film in the franchise, which is directed by J.J. Abrams, opens Dec. 18 across the universe which is expected to earn more than $1 billion worldwide.
Who is ready to turn their lightsabers up and fly across universe on Monday? Everyone surely can't wait for Dec.18 anymore.
