‘House of Cards’ Season 4 Release & Premiere Spoilers: Series to be Inspired by the US Presidential Elections? Frank & Doug to Become a Dynamic Duo Again

Season 4 of "House of Cards" is yet to premiere next year, but various storylines have already been teased by the show's production and some cast members. Recent reports suggest that the show's upcoming story may take inspiration from the upcoming U.S. presidential elections. Meanwhile, while it has been widely speculated that Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) may be killed off by Frank (Kevin Spacey) in the upcoming season, a contrary report states that the two are set to become a dynamic duo again.

According to Master Herald, "House of Cards" Season 4 may draw some parallelism with the upcoming U.S. elections, which was confirmed by showrunner Beau Willimon. However, he clarified that whatever parallelism may be observed between the show and the series is not intentional and may be just pure coincidence.

Willimon acknowledged the possibility of having similarities between the real-life elections and the one in the show, but he emphasized that the show particularly avoids portraying real-life politics. He also said that Season 4 of "House of Cards" is actually being written in advance, ahead of the U.S. presidential elections.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Doug may face his death soon in the show, but new reports state that in contrary, he and Frank may rise up again as a dynamic duo. Master Herald points out that Frank is actually more efficient with Doug by his side, so the former may just set aside their previous differences to ensure his victory in the upcoming elections.

It can be recalled that in Season 3, Doug was able to gain back the trust of Frank as the latter's Chief of Staff. It is yet to be seen though if the two's relationship are indeed back on track or if they both have hidden agendas on each other.

"House of Cards" Season 4 is set to air in March 2016.
