Tax Evaders Ed and Elaine Brown's Properties Set for Auction; Officials Think Brown's Real Estate Will Finally Sell

The tax evaders Ed and Elaine Brown's two real estate properties are now set again for auction. The officials of Plainfield, New Hampshire are positive that this time the properties will have bidders.

WCAX-TV reports that the home of Ed and Elaine Brown, who are convicted for tax evasion, is scheduled action. However, the said property is believed to have been emplaced with booby-traps.

The house has a total area of 6,000 square feet, with land area of a hundred acres. However, potential buyers of these real estate properties are warned since there were explosives that were found in the place.

Business Insider says that the real estate properties of Ed and Elaine Brown had no bidders when an auction was made last year. But, this time, it appears like some are already interested to buy the house in Plainfield and office in Lebanon.

Report says that the minimum bid for property in Plainfield is $125,000, while the office in Lebanon is $250,000. It is also disclosed that the winning bidders are given 45 days to complete the payment, contrary to the previous time frame which is 7 days. In addition, "bidders must present a bank-certified check for $25,000, not $50,000." Those who are qualified to bid the real estate properties of Ed and Elaine Brown may visit the compound.

It is also reported that the terms of acquiring the properties of the Brown's are a lot attractive this time compared to last year's. This info has been disclosed by deputy U.S. Marshal Brenda Mikelson herself. She was also the one who conducted the auction last year, in which her courtroom was filled with empty chairs.

It is also noted that the auction this coming Thursday will be conducted by the Property Appraisal and Liquidation Specialists division of the Internal Revenue Service. It is auctioneer Roger Sweeney that will the event.
