'Cops' co-creator John Langley has just put his Santa Monica home on the market for $2.1 million. Built in 1990, the home is a charming creation full of arresting features, inside and out. The property has two structures that include the main house and a storybook stone cottage. Both stand under the shade of fruit trees.
The house is pretty much the opposite of jail, as it is beautifully located in an exclusive neighborhood near the ocean, where you don't have to worry about walking shirtless or seeing mullet-haired men with cameramen in tow bringing some disturbance.
According to Realtor, 'Cops' is a popular police-based reality TV show on Fox that ran for an amazing 25 years before its recent change to Spike TV. John Langley, 72, created this long-running reality show with fellow producer Malcolm Barbour.
In June, producer Barbour attempted to sell his $6.25 million home in Rancho Mirage, CA. However, in September, he took it off the market once again. Soon, the two will be seen reuniting to co-create a new reality show entitled "SOLD."
Many have probably read the name John Langley many times in their lifetime. For those who have watched 'Cops' for the last twenty-five years, they've most likely seen it a thousand times. Langley has been called the "Godfather of Reality TV'' for a good reason. As Cops' creator, John Langley essential broke ground on the genre itself - this would be a surprise when Fox announced that it would cease airing the show after twenty-five seasons.
However, Fox has moved 'Cops' over to Spike TV and will continue to run brand new episodes in its original timeslot every Saturday at 8 pm.
Parade said Langley observed the police doing a drug raid, and he thought, "How interesting would it be to have a show with nothing between you and the officers?''
It's like a ride-along with the police officers when they do something, from their point of view.
