"Arrow's" Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) will also appear in some episodes of "The Flash" Season 2 and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" Season 1.
In an interview with Comic Book, the 49-year-old actor revealed that he's excited to learn more about Damien's backstory.
"Every villain just can't be dark; there has to be some reason why Damien is who he is. Like I was saying with 'Arrow' executive Marc Guggenheim, we're going to go back and figure out why 122 years ago, how he became this guy and has not aged in 122 years," he said.
Meanwhile, the actor revealed that he recently shot a scene from "DC's Legendds of Tomorrow" and noticed how Damien looked exactly the same even way back in 1975. However, the actor noted that even though the character's physical features may remain the same, Damien's personality has some notable differences, according to Design & Trend.
"You go back to the League - I did an episode of 'Legends' last week - and I look exactly the same in 1975 but you see he's not as confident and doesn't have such an agenda forty years ago as he does now. So it's fun to play the different times, you know?" he explained.
In other news, McDonough also talked about what it's like appearing on "The Flash" Season 2. According to him, he's having the best time of his life because he gets to kill just about anybody on the hit The CW series.
"With 'The Flash,' I'm just this crazy, fun, enjoy everything while I kill everybody type of character. It's just nuts," he said.
In the recent premiere episode of "Arrow" Season 4, Damien already attempted to kill Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). He's expected to terrorize the entire Starling City in the upcoming installments.
"Arrow" Season 4 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
