"Blindspot" episode 5 will find Thomas Carter going after Jane Doe as the CIA and FBI try to beat each other to the punch in locating a suspect.
The fifth installment of "Blindspot" is called "Split the Law" and will pit the CIA against the FBI in a chase for vital information that will take them to the individual who took a hostage recently. According to Design & Trend, Agent Kurt Weller who is assigned to dig up Jane's past and find out the truth about her will come to a realization that not only do the CIA want to take over the case of Jane but also want her dead. Carter was seen discussing Jane with Bethany Mayfair in the past episodes where he told her that Jane's tattoos pose a threat to all of them. But Mayfair has other thoughts on Jane and rejects Carter's proposed elimination. This time Carter wants to take matters into his own hands.
The trailer for the episode showed Carter with a sniper rifle aimed squarely at Jane. However, Jane will be saved by an unlikely person, ensuring that the show's protagonist stay alive. "Blindspot" executive producer Martin Gero hinted of something big happening during the show's tenth episode. "It was super arrogant of us, but we designed the first season to be 22 episodes... There will be a cliffhanger at the end of 10," he said.
In a report by TV Equals, Agent Weller takes Jane to meet his family and this overwhelms her immensely as she desperately tries to unlock her own identity. She then is visited by the mystery man she saw in her first flashback who gave her a strange warning that she cannot decipher on her own. Weller and Mayfair continue their debate as to what Jane's role should be on their team.
