As celebrity homes are frequently featured on home and lifestyle television programs and magazines, many watch and read them in great awe, with the wish that they will someday have amazing residences such as those in the future. Well, you don't need to splurge millions of dollars just have a celebrity-looking house. The US Weekly shared some interior design and decoration tips inspired by the industry's big names.
1. Shoe closet inspired by Kim Kardashian
Laurel House, author of QuickieChick's Cheat Sheet to Life, Love, Food, Fitness, Fashion and Finance on a Less than Fabulous Budget, says, "Stop hiding your shoes in your closet. Treat them like the show pieces that they are and place them on fancy shelves or on shoe racks along your bedroom wall. Just keep them neat and organize them by color scheme."
2. Subtle, statement-making style inspired by Angelina Jolie
House likewise recommends adorning your house with a statement piece where guests will see it first: in your foyer or main entrance. "Use layers of mirrors, framing them, lining them, even stacking them. Select mirrored furniture to add some function, like a place to put down keys, sunglasses, cell phone, and mail, she says.
3. Love for Italy inspired by Jessica Biel
Another suggestion from House is to take a cue from Biel and her husband Justin Timberlake's favorite international getaway by adding a taste of Italy in your home. "Try framing vintage Italian-style wallpaper. It's an inexpensive way to transform a room, add some color, and imbue a certain place and time without the financial expense or enduring commitment of actually papering your walls," according to House.
4. Dark handsome allure inspired by Adam Levine
The "Moves like Jagger" crooner showed off his dark-walled bedroom, which is just as sexy as he is in the March edition of Architectural Digest. House then recommends to start small by painting just one wall of your room in a shade that reflects your mood and fits your personality. "You can even paint a large canvas with the hue and hang it up. It's very Rothko," she adds.
5. Beachcomber nature inspired by Jennifer Aniston
Exude the actress' favorite oasis by putting beach-themed decorations throughout your bedroom. "Paint your floor ocean blue. Paint is easier to clean than a rug, and you can control the color, size and pattern. Add some sand into the paint to create texture. You can also fill Mason jars with sea glass, beach sand or seashells," House suggests.
