Celebrity Real Estate: Giada De Laurentiis is Buying a New House After Her Divorce

Giada De Laurentiis isn't resenting when she lost her home after her nasty divorce because she's buying a new pad that's even bigger. As learnt by TMZ, De Laurentiis is ready to spend $6 million on a five-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath, and 1920s estate in the Riviera area of Pacific Palisades.

The Spanish-style home has a bit of history as it once belonged to swing legend Benny Goodman. The property has a guest house set up like a music studio.

The house features an open kitchen that has got all top-of-the-line appliances where De Laurentiis can cook any pie and chicken cacciatore she likes.

A copy of the final divorce judgment obtained by TMZ between Giada De Laurentiis and Todd Thompson, states that Giada is ordered to pay Thompson $9,000 a month in child support.

Thompson also gets their $3.2 million house in Pacific Palisades as well as art and furnishings worth $300,000. He also keeps his membership in the swanky Bel-Air Bay Club overlooking the Pacific.

TMZ also added that De Laurentiis, in her part, gets all rights to an untitled Italian cookbook and her company, Linguine Pictures. She also gets all the rights to GDL Foods, Inc. which means she gets to keep her brand.

With the absence of a pre-nup, De Laurentiis must give Thompson 50 percent of the unpaid advances to various cookbooks, which include a $2.5 million balance for Giada at Home/Weeknights, $2.3 million for Giada Feel Good Food, and $757,000 for Everyday Pasta/Giada's Kitchen.

The two are also dividing up various bank accounts, with a total balance of $2 million.

As they are both rich, not one of them gets spousal support. Thompson's estimated net-worth is $15 million while De Laurentiis is $20 million.

The two will share joint custody of their seven-year-old daughter, Jae Marie.

Giada De Laurentiis and Todd Thompson announced their split with the most amicable break-up ever. In her Facebook post, Giada said they were moving forward separately, but doing what's best for their "family's happiness."
