Pindar Vineyards Selling Estate for $65 Million

Pindar Vineyards, the largest wine producing estate of Long Island in Peconic, New York is selling its estate for $65 million, according to Newsday.com.

Apparently, the estate has been listed on Loopnet.com without any price but a family member of the estate's owners said to the folks at Sun Properties, a real estate firm, that if the right buyer, ready to pay $65 million comes along, the deal would definitely be done.

"We're not actively trying to sell it," he said, but if the right buyer and offer came along, the family would "entertain it," the family member said.

The estate listed for sale encompasses 500 vast acres of grape-bearing lands, which can either be sold individually or collectively. The property grows more than 17 varieties of grapes and produces around 23 variants of wine, filling 70,000 cases of wine each year. The Duck Walk estate is also included in the offering. This estate is popular for its fields of sunflowers that blossom in summer.

According to the official website:

"At Pindar Vineyards, our award-winning wines are quite literally dreams come true. It was the dream of our founder; Dr. Herodotus "Dan" Damianos that helped create the winemaking industry on Long Island in the early 1980's. And that dream has, over nearly 30 years, turned Pindar Vineyards into Long Island's best-known wine producer."

Pindar is one of the most famous vineyards of Long Island. They offer amenities like wine clubs, tours of the estate and also encourage public events like picnics, corporate functions, weddings and wine tasting ceremonies.
