Barbie, the legendary and extremely unreal plastic creation of Mattel, the toy company, is globetrotting searching for a new place to settle down as she has already listed her Malibu mansion for sale.
Currently, she is in Germany where the reception has not been very warm but will soon move to tour the other European nations in the coming few months.
While it is obvious that Barbie is not very welcome in Berlin, some people have already started suggesting where she should go.
Bob Dyer at Ohio.com suggests that Barbie should move to Barberton, a small town in Ohio. He goes on to write about how the town is so real and so much better than Barbie's previous abode, Malibu.
He writes about how the view of the Pacific Ocean is not a penny worth the views of Lake Anna. He also compares the residents of Malibu to the people of Barberton and concludes that the "Malibuians" are "artificial". He even compares the heritage of Malibu with the small town.
"Malibu's heritage is artificial. In 1928, when the area was first developed, housing was leased cheaply to movie stars as a marketing ploy. People like Gary Cooper, Gloria Swanson and Barbara Stanwyck lived there. Celluloid heroes, spending their lives pretending to do things. In Barberton, people actually did stuff. Serious stuff. Like lighting things on fire. The guy who put our town on the map was called 'The Match King'," Dyer writes in the feature.
Reading Dyer's feature, we decided to ask around where Barbie should move to and here is what we found.
Some people suggest that she should probably move to Switzerland because "it is the land where everyone seeks shelter" or Holland because people are more open-minded there.
"Frankly in Holland. Just the place for her and her Barbie-like house. Very liberal people too," one respondent said.
Another respondent said she should probably move to Spain, so she could learn the "Flamenco" and "watch the bulls fight". While one person thought that she should probably move to Monaco or North London because it would suit her extravagant lifestyle, another thought she should go to New York because it is the city of dreams and she could pursue a brilliant modeling career in the city!
