'Scream Queens' & 'American Horror Story: Hotel' Slammed For Being Sexual & Violent; Do Fans Agree?

Ryan Murphy's "Scream Queens" Season 1 and "American Horror Story" Season 5 "Hotel" were recently slammed by critics who claimed the shows are too sexual and violent.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tim Winter's conservative watchdog group dubbed the pilot episode of "Hotel" as an "unbelievably explicit combination of sex and violence." The premiere episode for the said show featured a bloody encounter between The Countess (Lady Gaga), Donovan (Matt Bomer), as well as two other unnamed extras.

Donovan and The Countess also engaged in a group sex at the Hotel Cortez, which later on turned into a crime scene after the bloodsucking couple slashed the throats of their two other companions.

Meanwhile, in a previous interview with TV Line, Murphy revealed that the premiere episode for "Hotel" is one of the most disturbing episodes they have ever filmed for the FX series.

Regarding the theme of the show, Winter said, "This is the most vile and shocking content I've ever seen on TV. Ever. Most Americans have no idea this is primetime fare on advertiser-supported basic cable. And everyone is paying for it as part of their program bundle." .

Winter also spoke about "Scream Queens" Season 1 and said that the show promotes decapitations and discussions of necrophilia.

Meanwhile, fans of "Hotel" and "Scream Queens" shared a slew of mixed reactions on the Design & Trend website.

@Daniel Alejandro Hernandez wrote, "Do they realize that these 2 shows are transmitted in the adult TV schedule and it's responsibility of the parents to check that their children don't watch them?"

Another fan, @Rajesh Kumar, wrote, "It's all over the Internet. I feel this show is little too much for regular people..."

"Scream Queens" Season 1 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on FOX. "American Horror Story" Season 5 "Hotel" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on FX.
