Jim Carrey Sells Malibu Home for $13.4 Million

The "Ace Ventura" funnyman, Jim Carrey has reportedly sold off his residence in Malibu for $13.4 million. Carrey actually purchased the home in October, 2002 for around $9.7 million.

According to the Real Estalker, Carrey put the home on the open market with a price tag of $18 million in June 2011. The home went on and off the market three times before re-surfacing with a price tag of $13.9 million in June 2012.

The listing records of the home state that the residence sold sometime in April 2013. It was built in 1957. The 2866 single family home sits on a prime 7245 square feet lot comprising of three bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Interiors of the two story beach-front home boast of large glass floor-to-ceiling windows and doors with tiled flooring and modern architecture. The house has a formal living room, a dining area, a screening room, a spa, a wet bar and a modern kitchen with a mid-rise island.

Outside, the home has ample seating areas, open terraces and one covered parking garage.

Looks like Carrey could use some of the money to fund his fine. He was recently charged $72,000 for failing to obtain workers' insurance for the employees of his New York art studio, reports Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, as the summer is already here, Malibu properties are in full demand. Other than Carrey, Peri Gilpin also sold her home in the area recently. Some showbiz bigwigs like Dave Matthews and Oracle CEO, Larry Ellison have also purchased homes in Malibu.

Many celebrities are renting out their water-front properties in the areas too. The latest property to hit the rental arena is Steven Spielberg's posh mansion. Leonardo DiCaprio's pad is available too and Pat Riley's will be available soon.
