Rosie O’Donnell Sued For Slander By Ex-Producer Of ‘The View’

Jennifer Shepard-Brookman, former senior producer of "The View," has filed a lawsuit against Rosie O'Donnell stating that the co-host got her fired and slandered her name. According to Radar Online, the former producer filed the complaint last Thursday in New York State court.

New York Daily News revealed that it was stated in the lawsuit that "Shepard-Brookman feared for her safety after Rosie O'Donnell got into her face and created a threatening environment."

It has been reported that things got out of hand in September 2014 when O'Donnell flipped out when she found out that the producer changed the coverage of the Islamic State beheading of journalist James Foley away from her and turned it over to co-host Whoopi Goldberg.

O'Donnell allegedly "accused Ms. Brookman of teaming with Ms. Goldberg to undermine Ms. O'Donnell," according to Radar Online.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it was stated in the complaint that "At that time, Ms. O'Donnell intimidated Ms. Brookman by screaming that she 'owned' the story and was upset that Ms. Goldberg covered the story, and by grabbing the arms of the chair in which Ms. Brookman was sitting, leaning very close to her face and prohibiting her from leaving."

It has been reported that O'Donnell had a hard time getting along with her co-workers in "The View." But what happened between Brookman and O'Donnell is not just a typical set argument. The complaint read that "Shepard-Brookman was 'scared of Rosie and thought she was going to be assaulted.'"

Brookman is said to be suing O'Donnell for slander and seeking unspecified damages after O'Donnell allegedly "caused (her) to suffer intense emotional distress... destroyed her professional reputation, and led to her termination of employment."

However, the lawyers of O'Donnell said that Shepard-Brookman's allegations are all "baseless."

Nicolle Jacoby of Dechert law firm said that "Miss O'Donnell will defend herself vigorously in court."
