'Person Of Interest' Season 5 Spoilers: Can Harold Fix The Machine To Beat The Samaritan?

One of the biggest questions in the upcoming new season of "Person of Interest" is whether Harold (Michael Emerson) and John (Jim Caviezel) will be able to fix the Machine to beat the Samaritan.

The executive producers and some of the cast members of the show were present in the recently held New York Comic-Con, and the fans were treated with a brand new scene for Season 5. According to MStarz, the video shows Harold Finch attempting to launch the Machine for a test run.

In the Season 4 finale, the war between the Machine and the Samaritan left people dead, and it also paved the way in creating new alliances. On the other hand, Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi) was revealed to be alive, and she was seen walking away with the Samaritan agents.

According to the sources of the site, the Machine is now having problems, most specifically with its facial recognition software. It was reported that Season 5 will open in real time and it will take place after the Machine escapes from the Samaritan's agents. Executive producer Greg Plageman revealed in an interview that they are still not sure as to whether the Machine has a heartbeat and if they have a chance to save it.

In other news, Shahi teased in an interview that her character Shaw will go through more struggles in the new season of the show. According to Venture Capital Post, there will be a "deepened relationship" between Shaw and Root (Amy Acker). It was speculated that Root will be torn between looking for Shaw and helping out in finding the Machine.

As of writing, there is still no specific date for the premiere of Season 5, but it was already confirmed that the show will only run for 13 episodes. It is expected to air mid-season of 2016.
