Charles Oakley Sells Chicago Condo for a Loss of $200,000

Charles Oakley, the former power forward of the NBA team Chicago Bulls, has reportedly sold his South Loop Chicago condo for $900,000. He had purchased the home for around $1.1 million in 2005. Looks like, the place sold for a loss of $200,000.

According to Realtor.com, Oakley listed the home for sale sometime in mid-2011 with an asking price of $979,000 before price-chopping it to $899,900. Failing to sell even then, he further lowered the price to $874,900. However, he managed to sell it at the aforementioned price.

Apparently, the condo sits on the sixth floor of a posh apartment building in South Loop. The home is a 2319 square feet residence with three bedrooms. The house has a total room count of 10 living spaces that include a separate laundry room, an eat-in kitchen and a bonus room.

According to the listing at Redfin:

"Breathtaking views from this coveted NE corner in premier Musuem Pk. This spacious 3 br has floor to ceiling windows showcasing the incredible city skyline, Navy Pier, Grant Pk, The Lake & more! This urban oasis is complete w/ formal foyer, sep dining space, 2 ensuite brs, laundry rm, expanded kitchen w/ upgraded Brookhaven cabs, granite & Monogram series appls incl dbl oven & 5 burner gas cooktop. 2 gar spots $35K ea."

With the real estate market in boom, Oakley managed to sell the home higher than his asking price. According to the realtors, he will miss having a home in Chicago, reports Chicago tribune.

"He did say he will miss the views and having a place in Chicago. It had fabulous views," Christie DelGreco, a realtor representing the condo said to the website.
