Rare Palace on English Embankment for Sale in St. Petersburg (SLIDESHOW)

A rare palace located on the famous English Embankment in central St. Petersburg, Russia, has come up for sale. Though listed on the public market, property price is revealed on request only as the cost is expectedly very high.

The eighteenth century mansion once belonged to Duke Trubetskoy who was a great companion of Peter the Great. The place traded through noble generations until 1917, when it was declared a national heritage site. According to Curbed, it was recently used as an office for a high-end bank. However, looks like the place is ready to serve as a single family residence once again.

According to the listing records of the Palace, the grand manse boasts of 38,642 square feet of interiors and living space. Beautifully restored, the home is packed with luxurious amenities and now features Neo-Gothic style architecture.

An entrance hall with elaborate sets of staircases, a swan hall, an indoor garden, a golden living room, a serene prayer room and a niche-alcove are some of its exquisite features.

The listing reads:

"Being the owner of this magnificent property, you'll be able to enjoy the romantic interiors of the palace, its strap-work and fan vaults for a long, long time. The palace comprises representative rooms with historical interiors (953 sqm), office space (859 sqm), café-canteen area (174 sqm), sauna (65 sqm). The building is equipped with the central air intake, outlet and air conditioning system."
