The band and the management had to cancel the event due to the unfortunate circumstance that brought Liam Payne to mysterious illness. To tone down the dismay of the fans, bandmates Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson took to Twitter to apologize.
Styles and Tomlinson are 'very disappointed that they had to cancel the show in Belfast. This was due to the sickness of Liam Payne. In light of this, fans are worried as to what happened to Payne.
"Deepest apologies to everyone at the show tonight in Belfast. Very disappointed, but unfortunately these things happen. We're very sorry. H," Harry Styles posted on his Twitter account with followers. The tweet has been retweeted 151,000 times and favorited 198,000 times as of writing.
While Louis Tomlinson tweeted to his followers, "We're so so sorry for what happened tonight, it was out of our control! Lots of love to Liam and thank you for being so understanding!" This has garnered over 155,000 retweets and 189,000 favorites.
The concert was cancelled last minute. And fans had already filled the SSE Arena and were only waiting for the boyband to come on stage and sing.
"Unfortunately One Direction have had to cancel tonight's concert in Belfast. Liam has been taken suddenly ill, and the concert will sadly not be taking place. Fans have been asked to hold on to their tickets and there will be a further statement tomorrow. The band apologize to their fans and wish Liam well as soon as possible," an official rep for the band told HollywoodLife.com.
One commenter on Hollywoodlife.com said, "A tweet would have been nice earlier in the day letting your fans know the show was cancelled. Let's face it, no one will ever know what really happened because this group has been shady since the day they were formed. One scandal after another."
