With the tsunami of gadgets being released and advertised one after the other, chances are great that you are having a hard time in choosing what to purchase. Most consumers who are not keen with gadgetry and specs would be having a hard time choosing between the latest releases from the two tech giants, Microsoft and Apple. Yes, I am talking about the new Microsoft Surface Book and Apple's MacBook Pro.
To somehow shed some light and guide you with your decision making, this article would try to go beyond and scrutinize the almost two identical features of the said devices, which particularly includes price points and storage. With these layers being examined, significant difference of both latest gadgets will somehow be made clear to you as a prospect buyer of either Microsoft Surface Book or the MacBook Pro from Apple.
To start with, when one would try to compare Microsoft product from Apple gadgets, at a glance one could simply say that the Apple's laptops and other gadgets are bit too expensive compared to Microsoft. Such observation could be partly true, but in relevance Surface Book and MacBook Pro, Microsoft was not keen enough to emphasize that though Microsoft's Surface Book will offer twice the performance of the MacBook Pro, consumers would have to pay extra in order to enjoy such performance through a graphics card in the dock.
Now the idea given above, if interpreted correctly would then suggest that an entry level MacBook Pro offers same performance of that with a cheapest Surface Book Pro. On the other hand, in terms of storage, zdnet also pointed out, that if you would want to have a 1TB Microsoft Surface Book, it will cost you $500 more than the MacBook Pro of Apple.
The extra $500 may still not be clear to you. So here's the deal. Both the Microsoft's Surface Book and Apple's MacBook Pro contain Core i7 processors with 16GB of RAM and discrete graphic cards. So far so good right? But Microsoft's Surface Book with 1TB storage costs around $3,199, while on the contrary, Apple's MacBook Pro with similar spec will only cost you $2,699. And mind you with $2,699 at your hand, you can already purchase a 512GB Surface Book. With regards to the chipset, "Microsoft's Surface Book will have the latest Intel chips inside, something Apple will match in the next MacBook Pro refresh, but that still doesn't explain the huge price difference," said bgr.
However, regardless the price and storage differences, the manner on how you would utilize the device should be given importance. You should also consider your orientation, if you have been comfortable using Microsoft over the past decades, then why not continue. But if you want to experience another environment, then why not try Apple and their distinct operating system.
