The "Cast Away" actor, Tom Hanks has reportedly listed his home in the Pacific Palisades for sale with an asking price of $5.2 million.
According to the Zillow Blog, Hanks purchased the home in 1988 during his early acting career. However, he and his wife, Rita soon upgraded to a much larger and posh home in the area that they purchased for $26 million. On the whole, the couple has four properties in Pacific Palisades itself.
Listing records of the home state that the residence is a 6289 square feet residence sitting on a 13,011 square feet lot. The home comprises of four bedrooms and five full and one half bathroom.
Interiors of the house have lovely marble floors and French doors and windows with high cathedral and tray ceilings. The simple home does not look much like a celebrity residence but definitely exudes a certain charm of a cozy single family residence.

While Hanks just listed one of his homes from his real estate kitty, various media reports state that he is backing the restoration of World War II Paratrooper Camp in Toccoa at Currahee Inc. Apparently Hanks donated $25,000 to the ambitious project.
"I cannot imagine a more fitting site to recreate and honor as would a refurbished Currahee - a stop for all history students, no matter the age," Hanks said in an email to Robin Sink McClelland, president of Camp Toccoa.
