Zillow Group is reportedly aggressively pursuing real estate agents with a new specially-designed smartphone app.
According to Baltimore Business Journal, the online real estate database launched its very first app designed especially for real estate agents. The app is called "Premier Agent App" and it reportedly gives an added incentive for agents to sign up for a Zillow Group profile. Having a profile in the Zillow real estate database will allow the user to use the app for free.
With "Premier Agent App," managing incoming inquiries via Zillow and Trulia has become easier. The app is also aimed to manage listing.
Zillow CEO Spencer Rascoff has made it clear that the company's major priority is to sell ads, not houses thus it is important to increase engagement with real estate agents, who sell ads via Zillow. According to Baltimore Business Journal, Rascoff said during the GeekWire Summit, "Seventy-two percent of people using mobile to shop for real estate are using one of our sites, and yet only 5 percent of what agents spend on real estate advertising is spent on our site. So our first priority is closing that gap."
The new "Premier Agent App" was announced earlier this October at the Zillow Group Premier Agent Forum, which is an annual event that gathers Premier Agents to meet with Zillow's leadership team. In the said forum, Greg Schwartz, Zillow Group chief business officer addressed all questions regarding the app after it was announced.
As stated in the app webpage, "the Premier Agent App was created in direct response to feedback from real estate agents, and it was built to deliver the user experience they asked for. The app not only helps agents be more efficient and productive when they're on the road, but it also provides access to vital resources such as the Premier Agent Resource Center."
The "Premier Agent App" will be available sometime in November.
