Actor Vin Diesel of the movie "Fast and Furious" shared a personal appeal for James Gunn in an upcoming Marvel Comics movie, the "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2."
Diesel is the voice of Groot, the humanoid tree, in Gunn's movie. During his latest IGN interview, Diesel said he wanted to witness a massive Groot. He also indicated that he would love to place him into the forest and see how the supersized would become after eating all the trees in the forest. He had also even teased about imagining a humanoid-plant Guardian in the Central Park of New York City.
With his abilities which had been seen in "Guardians of the Galaxy," Groot was capable of eating wood for his food, and controlling trees, using and forming plants for weapons, increasing his size, and also, regenerating. Groot actually had resistance to fire, which could make flamethrowers inefficient, according to Cinema Blend.
With a massive-sized Groot, he can play an important part if in case the Guardians of the Galaxy will show up in battles with Mad Titan Thanos of "Avengers: Infinity War."
Vin Diesel stated that his opinion on immortality has been influenced primarily by one of the best works of J.R.R. Tolkien.
"'The Silmarillion' could be among the initial fantasy pieces which played with an immortality that wasn't a god of mythology. Being an author, Tolkien is playing with immortality in a really cool manner," he said. "Tolkien suggests that mortality can be a gift. Immortality may not be a gift, but the mortality, that's the gift. And it is something we were sort of close to and then I was able to sort of factor in our mythology."
"Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" will also star Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, the voice of Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker, and maybe Howard the Duck, and others. Beniciodel Toro is going to reprise his character as The Collector, the director also teased about having a Sneeper in the movie.
"Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" will premiere in U.S. theaters on May 5, 2017.
