7 Bathroom Design Tips: Enjoy Your Stay More in Your Bathroom

One's bathroom can be perceived as every homeowner's personal space. This essential part of the house is the one that serves a subtle silence of privacy and relaxation. But the calmness of the bathroom changes when you are adorned at home with your kids, husband, or roommates. So how will we bring back the order of serenity in this busy space?

Interior Designer Kirk Nix and Dollar Shave Club founder Michael Dubin shares ideas on how to bring back the old glory of your loo from Elle Decor's article.

It's never too late to bring your dream bathroom scape back!

1. Bring "YOU" to the space

Create a space dedicated for you in the bathroom and display in that space your bath essentials. It would be a sweet reminder that you have your own take in the room when you see your stuff in it.

As Michael Dublin advised, "You should have your own stuff, so it doesn't always feel like you're stealing products intended for your wife, husband, girlfriend, or boyfriend. Stake out your own drawer, or shelf in the medicine cabinet. It doesn't have to be a ton of space, just enough to hold your essentials."

2. Create some mood in the room by adding "adjustable lights"

Lighting makes any more lively and adds nostalgia so adding this "adjustable lights" inside can create a mood and make it even extra more special.

3. Minimalism is key.

It's far ugly when your bathroom will look so crowded because of so much stuff placed into it. It is ideal to keep in mind to display what you think is needed in the space, take away clutter, and also make it easier to clean.

"When your bathroom feels bright, spacious, and uncluttered, you might just want to spend a bit more time in there." Dublin said.

4. A cool rug can add some cheer.

Try adding a rug to add some touch of style and comfort when you enter the space.

5. Don't get too busy with patterns

As advised by Nix, it is ideal if a bathroom will be in a "monochromatic palette" but if you want to go for wilder prints and bold patterns, he said to "limit it to 2-3 materials."

6. Scents go a long way

You can never go wrong in infusing some lovely scent in the room, go for your favorites - sea breeze, vanilla, honeydew, lavender, etc. Anything that will go your fancy. The scent will make you appreciate more your stay in your bathroom.

7. Lift up some good jams or a nice book

Sounds in your bathroom or even a simple rack to place some magazines and books. These time spent with this "entertainments" in the bathroom can even be your own "me" time for yourself that you can definitely enjoy.
