1. Make it "Beautiful"
As advised by Berkus, make the things you always touch at home like the "cabinet knobs" or even your "mail trays" to become extra-special.
Go for the extra mile, when you buy try to choose those door knobs that adds liveliness in your room, how about a hot-pink knob for a girl's room?
2. A Touch of Flowers will Help
Adding some fresh flowers in a room can bring in a revived feeling/ energizer. Try putting some near your bedside or your workstation, this would simply take off some of those stress.
3. Make your own collection
Whatever is that home accessory that you fancy, "start your own collection" from you favorite teacup lights to scented candles.
4. Try in a punchy color or "bold" prints
Whether it'll be using a zebra print carpet or an upholstered chair in neon colors. This unusual mix in your home can draw in interest and cuts off boredom.
5. Take off some
Sometimes we get overboard in designing a place and the only thing to make everything look balanced is to put off some of the things away.
6. Let not be the living room be the TV room
The living room serves as a place where your invited guests can hang-out and chill so a trick to not let the TV be the main star in your living room is to keep it in an "entertainment cabinet" so that you can hide it in when it is not needed and bring it out again when you need to.
7. Don't let the dust accumulate in your special wares
Let an ordinary day become special by using those festive silverware or "chinas" that you just used for thanksgiving.
