Featured yesterday in the celebrity estate news section of the REALTORS® website, Realtor®, was an article by Craig Donofrio where it was reported that the legendary music producer Dallas Austin has placed his Atlanta home for rent for $20,000 a month. According to the property's listing agent, Angela Beck, this is the first time that the futuristic modern home will be officially rented.
The mansion, which is 5,500 square feet in size, was designed by Portland, Oregon- based architect and motorcycle racer Michael Czysz who has been given the title "Master of Maximalism" and was behind the design of the mansion of other celebrities like Cindy Crawford and rocker Lenny Kravitz.
Built in 2003, the residence has gained popularity because of its unique shape similar to that of a spaceship. Outside, one will be greeted with its all white walls, curves that resemble those of a race track, a roof shaped to look like a lily pad which dips at the center and goes lower towards the ground along its sides.
It has four bedrooms, a main living area dominated by curves- oval shaped glass walls, sheer drapes that form a half-circle and acts as a backdrop for a C-shaped couch. A spiral staircase is enclosed by a tube tower in the middle of the room.
Other amenities of the house are its black-walled theater room which has a bar, a Zen garden encased in a glass, full of smooth stones and an infinity pool outside.
Beck adds that the mansion had been a temporary dwelling for some big names like Justin Bieber and Kravitz. In the early part of 2014, Rachel Maraca wrote in the NY Daily News Bieber's stay in this digs for a couple of months while he was shopping for his own place and while working on an album.
Moreover, due to its unique appearance Austin's house has been used as a location for some movies, the latest of which was "What to Expect When You're Expecting," starring Realtor®'s very own Elizabeth Banks.
Austin has produced many chart toppers such as "Just like a Pill" by Pink, "Motownphilly" by Boyz II Men, and "The Boy Is Mine" by Brandy and Monica. He is looking for a tenant who will stay in his property from six to twelve months. Beck assures the future renter that even if he is not a celebrity, "it automatically makes you feel like a celebrity just being there."
