‘Fallout 4’ Steam Preorders Incentives: Bethesda Releases Announcer Pack Featuring ‘Mister Handy’

Game developer Bethesda on Friday has revealed a new incentive for "Dota 2" fans. The company says that "Dota 2" players who pre-ordered the "Fallout 4" via Steam will receive a new announcer pack which features "Mister Handy," a report from Gamespot said.

"Mister Handy is a type of robot in the Fallout games--they're the three-armed, floating helper bots. One has appeared somewhat prominently in the footage we've seen of Fallout 4, and it's apparently this version of Mister Handy that serves as the new announcer pack," the report said.

"The Dota 2 Fallout 4 Announcer Pack will replace the Default announcer and Mega-Kills announcer with the voice of everyone's favorite robotic butler, Mister Handy," a description from the Steam page reads. It was said that the announcer pack is expected to arrive sometime in mid-November for players who pre-ordered the "Fallout 4" via Steam.  However, as of press time, it is unclear whether the announcer pack will be sold separately as Bethesda has yet to release additional details in the coming weeks.

"That being said, we're not entirely sure how much crossover there is between the Fallout and Dota fan bases. Neither franchise has much in common with the other, outside of a decided focus on the PC. Still, for those players who happen to be fans of both immensely popular franchises, this is a fun little bonus. Also, even if you are not a Dota 2 player, we'd bet you will pre-order through Steam anyway, so this can be a fun little gift for a friend," Gamerant has noted.

Gamespot reports that previous "Dota 2" announcer pack features the voice from another game or TV show characters like the voice of "Portal's GLaDOS, The Stanley Parable's narrator, Half-Life's Dr. Kleiner, and Rick and Morty."

"The latest adventure in Bethesda's nuclear wasteland series will launch on Nov. 10 on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. In the lead-up to its release date, Bethesda recently premiered its final installment in a video series detailing Fallout 4's S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes. The studio is also celebrating the series with a sale based on the Great War, in which new limited time-only items are being offered daily," Polygon said.
