Microsoft's Surface Book has a steep price tag for all its promising features, surprisingly aren't put off and it might just be Apple's ultimate contender.

So now the question fans are asking, which one of these high end gadgets deserve your money? According to Extremetech, Microsoft Surface Book is only available in a 13.5-inch so it is being compared to Apple's 13-inch MacBook Pro

With respect to specs, Apple MacBook Pro uses a Core i5-5257U 28W CPU, while with Surface Book one could be looking at Core i5-6300U, with a 2.4GHz base clock and 3GHz maximum frequency. In terms of screen resolution, it looks like Apple is better. According to Extremetech, the Surface Book has a PPI of 267 and becomes Retina-class at roughly 13 inches while MacBook Pro has a PPI of 227 and becomes Retina-class at 13 inches, as well. Blurry text and improper application scaling quite a nuisance that occurs under Windows 10 while Apple is said to have resolved this problem already.

With respect to battery life, Microsoft claims that it can go for 12 hours on standard battery but just 3 hours run time if used like a tablet. Apple, on the other hand, claims 10-11 hours for the MacBook Pro. Then, the Surface Book will have touchscreen support, while Apple offers better touchpads.

In terms of price, Microsoft Surface Book starts at $1,499.00 for 128GB Core Intel i5 8GB upto $3,199 for its 1TB Core Intel i7 which would ship starting January 22, 2016. On the other hand, the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display is somewhere between $1,299 and $2,499 with only up to 512 GB Storage.
